White Ash End Grain Cutting Board - Squared

$220.00

Built for the kitchens of people who actually cook. This end-grain cutting board is crafted from locally sourced white ash, hand-cut into a mosaic style pattern that plays warm, rippling heartwood grain against pale sapwood accents for a piece with real visual movement.

End-grain construction means the wood fibers stand on end rather than running flat. So, instead of your knife slicing across the grain, the blade slips gently between the fibers. That's what gives end-grain boards their signature "self-healing" surface: less dulling for your knives, and a board that resists deep scarring over years of use.

Each block was individually selected, cut, and glued up by hand, then sanded through multiple grits and finished with a food-safe oil and wax blend that brings out the depth of the grain while sealing the wood against moisture. Rubber non-slip feet keep it steady on the counter during heavy use.

This board is one of five similarly sized boards in a showcase series, each built with a unique pattern to demonstrate the range of custom layouts available for orders. So, if this design speaks to you but you'd like something tailored, custom work is very much on the table.
