This cutting board was another special request from a family member. The board’s made entirely out of end grain Hickory wood. Hickory is an exceptionally dense and shock-resistant North American hardwood species. Revered for having the highest combined strength and hardness of any domestic commercial lumber, hickory is not typically a first choice for a cutting surface. However, if you don’t mind sharpening your knives often, it can fulfill its role beautifully as a functional centerpiece in the kitchen.
